Welcome to the Twisted Metaverse!

If you’re here, perhaps you are curious how you got here… or, it’s quite possible you’re wondering what-in-the-world the Twisted Metaverse even is! These are some of the Metaverse’s Greatest Questions and it’s fortunate we are here to help each other solve them together!

There was once a time when the vision for the Twisted Metaverse was not fully formed and - even now - it continues to develop and expand into a vibrant community taking the internet by storm bit by bit. With multiple NFT Projects such as Holly Doges and Reddit Collectible Avatars in addition to Artwork, Memes, Merch, Memecoins, Websites and more, it always seemed obvious to tie everything together under one umbrella - Enter The Twisted Metaverse. In addition to establishing multiple projects between 2021 and present, Social Media Profiles and Communities have been setup on Discord, Telegram and beyond not only for Twisted Meta - but also for multiple projects like Holly Doges NFT and Krumpepe from Krump.Fun.


As a full-time Game Developer and Artist with experience at studios such as Electronic Arts (EA) and Disney with multiple project contributions in a variety of roles, Twisted Meta was initially a lurker on the r/Cryptocurrency Sub-Reddit and almost-exclusively used Reddit for learning more about Crypto and eventually Farming Moons (sometimes a little too much)! Working in the Games Industry eventually led to a Crash-Course in Crypto and a first-hand education in the NFT Gaming Sector, which introduced many Developers and Artists into the Cryptocurrency and Web3 Community for - what I believe to be - the best of the Gaming Industry and humanity as a whole.


After being introduced to Crypto through professional experience and learning to create a Wallet while interfacing with Solana, NFT’s, and Centralized Exchanges like Binance, the exploration and discovery phase began (mostly on Reddit) and the spark of a new passion began to catch fire. Watching many of the team-based Crypto projects fizzle out quickly was slightly discouraging, but inspired a motivation to figure out what works and what doesn’t - and to do it right, even if as a Solo-Developer.


In the future, there will certainly be posts about NFT’s, Crypto and Gaming in addition to some Podcast Episodes digging a little deeper into the details as long as things continue to go as planned in the Twisted Metaverse! This impassioned belief in Crypto and NFT’s revolutionizing the way we live, work, earn and play - specifically in the Gaming, Art and Crypto Industries - led to the research and creation of Twisted Meta’s first NFT Collection on the Polygon Blockchain.


The Holly Doges NFT Collection was launched on the Polygon-Matic Blockchain with the support of tools and guides provided on YouTube pointing to the Polygon Network as a quick and efficient way to launch an NFT Collection on the popular OpenSea NFT Marketplace. After many months of drawing and digital painting the Holly Doges collection with inspiration from the one-and-only real life Holly Dog, the first 500 Holly Doges were minted and the Twisted Metaverse was officially created!


Prior to the launch of Holly Doges, Twisted Meta’s internet presence was largely as a student of industries, communities, art, crypto and beyond. A variety of original memes, artworks and commentary established a solid foundation for Holly Doges to take off to the moon - from there - the lone Reddit Account was bolstered with a new OpenSea account with a shiny NFT Collection of the first 500 Holly Doges in search of a good home!


Holly Doges was initially intended to be launched as a Mystery Collection and Revealed after Purchase, but this feature in addition to Whitelisting and other options was not possible due to coding conflicts that prevented an ideal release event. Due to the nature of the plan on NFTPort, 500 Holly Doges could be minted per month up to the release of the 10000th Holly Doge in the final release.


Due to the coding difficulties and inexperience as an NFT Developer (and lack of Social Media Presence) Holly Doges was launched quietly in a very saturated market full of marketers, promoters, collaborators and of course eager collectors.


With an established presence on Reddit, Holly Doges was heavily marketed there in various Sub-Reddits and gradually many of the original Holly Doges were airdropped to Redditors in giveaways with the interest of growing the community and expanding the number of collection-holders. A large part of growing the community also involved increasing internet-presence - since then, Twisted Meta is on Twitter (X), Instagram, TikTok, Substack, YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Rumble, Reddit, OpenSea, ENS, DESO, Truth Social, Gumroad, Threads, Patreon, UnMineable, Pump.Fun, Krump.Fun and LinkTree in addition to Discord and Telegram Communities (Linked Below)!


Learning much from an abrupt, unannounced launch for Holly Doges as we pioneered our way into the Twisted Metaverse, it was clear setting up Socials and a Community Hub filled with resources was critical to success. Despite the initial short-comings, Holly Doges Reddit Airdrops continued to build a strong community of Holly Hodlers and as more NFT’s minted each month, the community, marketing plan and project continued to grow with an expanding social-presence. The Community support has been and continues to be very strong and greatly appreciated, as it is integral to the success of any project - especially in the world of Web3, Gaming and Crypto-Currency.


A HUGE shoutout to the Holly Hodlers out there who have been Twisties from the beginning - thanks for giving Holly Doges a good home in The Twisted Metaverse! Thank you for your continued support!

In the future, more details will be released on the Holly Doges Collection, which remains the keystone of The Twisted Metaverse and is a live collection available now on OpenSea and the Polygon network. Holly Doges was released around the era in which Reddit began releasing Collectible Avatar NFT’s (Reddit Collectible Avatars or RCA’s) - This was serendipitous as Twisted Meta had already established a crypto and NFT-focused foothold on the platform, so as soon as applications were opened the submission process was completed. After many months of waiting for a response and working with the Holly Doges Community to bolster the project, Reddit eventually responded with an opportunity to create NFT Avatars for the platform, leading to a series of Collections and with plans for more to come!


The Conejurors Collection was the first Twisted Meta RCA Collection to be released - created in honor of the Conehead community on Reddit and inspired by the mighty Traffic-Cone meme-fuel! The Conejurors is a collection of 412 Mints available now in the Reddit Shop for $24.99 and on OpenSea at a variable Floor Price. The second Collection of 87 Mints, Rough Seas, remains one of the crown-jewels in the Twisted Metaverse and recently SOLD OUT for $9.99 on Reddit, but is still available on the Secondary Market (like OpenSea) for a variable Floor Price.


Cone Dog Kennel Club (CDCK) RCA Initiations began with the launch of the 3rd NFT Collection on Reddit and the adorable Cone-Dog remains available in the Reddit Shop and on OpenSea today! After the creation of the CDKC, Young Mane was released (also available on Reddit and OpenSea) and Proof-of-Work was required as the launch of Young Mane immediately triggered a temporary Ban from the Creator Program and Delisting of other RCA Collections while the Reddit Team reviewed video files showing the making-of-footage, which was created for content-purposes but served as a solid back-up to ensure that the rampant influx of AI artwork (particularly novel at that time) did not infiltrate the RCA Creator Program, so their caution seemed merited and ensures a better quality product for the community and creators. Shortly after being banned, Reddit reviewed the submitted Proof-of-Work and the Ban was lifted, and the RCA journey started a new chapter!


This was all during the era of AI like ChatGPT just rearing its head in the market and causing heavy disruption. During the same timeframe, AI defeated Twisted Meta’s DOGE on Bike original artwork in a Cardsmiths Currency Trading Card Contest on the r/CurrencyTradingCards Sub-Reddit, so it was understandable Reddit would want to filter content and watch their tracks. It was fortunate the creation-process had been recorded and established a solid habit that has been maintained to this day. After the Ban was lifted, the Twisted Meta RCA shop continued to grow with the Secret Squirrel Society (SSS), which remains available in the Reddit Shop and on the OpenSea marketplace today! During this timeframe, Pump.Fun was becoming more heavily popularized and, like AI the novelty was appealing and drew attention from the Twisted Metaverse. With various tokens created as the platform was studied and other projects were explored, a passion for the process continued to grow and the research into the possibilities led to belief in great potential.


Krumpepe was created during the political memecoin frenzy preceding the election and President Trump’s second term as a original character inspired by Krumm from the 90’s Nickelodeon cartoon “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters” combined with Pepe the Frog (Inspired by the popular PEPE memecoin), and President Trump’s MAGA movement.

With Krumpepe came a wave of new social and crypto experience, with the project surpassing 50% bonding-curve completion within a few days of launch on Pump.Fun. The wisdom continues to grow along with the grass-roots community and infrastructure to bring people together to share in common interests!

Other notable releases from Twisted Meta since the creation of Krumpepe include The Two-Tailed Mermaid (TTM) RCA Collection on Reddit, The Anunnaki RCA, Ocelot Cub Kitten Club (OCKC) RCA, Twisted Wizard Society (TWS) RCA and more! Social media and the website have been bolstered as well, and marketing content has been generated in force. The Krump.Fun Merch Shop has also recently gone live as well, featuring Art Prints and Merch like Shirts, Mugs, Hats and more from Collections like Holly Doges, The Conejurors, Krumpepe and beyond!

The name “Twisted Meta” was inspired in-part by the hit video game series “Twisted Metal” after Mark Zuckerberg renamed Facebook “Meta” and declared they would define what the “Metaverse” and the future of Web3 would be. After seeing the travesty of what they put together and knowing what dystopian future we could be living in - more on materialism and digital property and beyond in another post - the perception was not only that the Metaverse being prescribed to the masses, just like Facebook, was not a utopia by any measure but that it was actually pretty twisted in its own kind of way. Therefore, as an antidote to that, the Twisted Metaverse was created as a balance to keep the future of the internet, Web3 and humanity in the hands of the people who use it instead of the people who try to control it through their platforms as has long been the case and continues to be a threat to free speech and humanity as a whole. Plus, “Twisted Metal” is a great game and an heirloom of childhood in the 90’s. Not the craziest Easter Egg in the world, but it’s an Easter Egg!
